REVERSE CHARADES?
fOr YoUr EnTeRtAiNmEnT
okay, so we all know the game of charades and most of you probably
know the game which is its opposite.
(i had never heard of it- (which is no surprise)
basically only one person guesses while everyone else acts the word out.)

anyway, here is a chance to relive
 our friday night
with us by seeing if YOU
can guess what the word is?
(that we are attempting to act out)

2nd best part of the night?
daron, anna, and becca trying to act out
the word "hydrant" for me.
im sad to say. i was unsuccessful.
my bad team.

1st best part of the night?
watching kirstin (and her parents)
act out the word
"sexy"
for her husband
(their son in law).
comical people.
unfortunately, i did not capture the moment.

reverse charades.
play it.
you won't regret it.

food. family. and food. thanksgiving done right.

did you notice:
-the green dip next to the pretzels on the food table?
that is avocado and edamame with tomatoes on top.
d.e.l.i.c.i.o.u.s.
whoever made that...
i love you.

- or the hair of heidi carlson?
perfectly curled gorgeous blonde locks.
heidi, i just have to say-
"the back of yo head is ridiculous"

- or how about.. my  own hair?
-word to the wise-
after you put coconut oil in your hair wash it 100 times.
or it will not dry and you will have greasy looking hair
at inopportune times.
oops.

-and (oh my goodness) i almost forgot.
the best site of the night that we are in the 21st century.
(below)
hope all is well where you are.
until next year!

A Happy Happy Thanksgiving - from the YOUNGS

we have started off our thanksgiving morning right.
waking up slowly
lounging around
a 5k turkey trot
now anna and i have coconut oil in our hair
(i always learn a new girly tradition while i am here in CO.
supposedly it is very nourishing for your hair
and the brazilians do it.
so why the heck aren't we?)
oh what would i do without my sister in laws.

we are about to embark on the annual swedish tradition
of making
 swedish meatballs.

ill be honest.
i really had my hopes up that Linnea had
already made them with the fam.
but she didn't.
she waited till daron and i came
so we could have the privilege of making them with her... :)
i'll post pictures and you'll see what i mean...

anyway, recently i sang this song in church.
i haven't been able to forget about it.
i was overcome with emotion as i sang,
and i could feel that the words of this song were true.

Because I have been given much, I too must give.
Because of thy great bounty, Lord each day I live.
I shall divide my gifts from thee with every brother that I see,
who has the need of help from me.
Because I have been sheltered, fed by thy good care…
I cannot see another’s lack and I not share-
my glowing fire, my loaf of bread-my roof’s safe shelter over head,
that he too may be comforted.
Because I have been blessed by thy great love dear Lord,
I’ll share thy love again according to thy word.
I shall give love to those in need. I’ll show that love by word and deed,
thus shall my thanks be thanks indeed.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
May we give thanks for all that we are blessed with

FAT GUY in a little coat

or...skinny guy on a little couch.
i just love that line so much. i wish i knew what movie it was from.
(jessie bessie? L-ham?)
anyway, daron has developed this corky/funny habit ever since we got these couches.
without fail, every time, daron picks the tiny baby couch
to spend his time on.
whether its reading, resting, playing on his iPad, or being a sleepy giant...
he chooses to sleep on this itty bitty thing and have his feet hang over
by {what looks to me} an uncomfortable measure.
consequently, i am left with this spacious wonderful couch all to myself.
this always makes me laugh.
because it is just so not daron.
he is not a surprising decision maker, but rather a very logical one.

anywho, i don't mind. because i get to do what i would like.
really really fun things.
like jumping up as high as i can so daron can take flying pictures of my
lion mane with somewhat disturbing facial expressions.
doesn't get better than this.
i hope this habit is here to stay.
logical or not.

i love him. i really really do.

25th birthday
for my lover.
a quarter of a century years old.
i'm not sure how i feel about it.

however, i do know that i feel this man is perfect for me.
his sweedish face and all
(don't those lips look like they belong to a porcelain doll!?)
i have mentioned before how "opposites attract" is truly
a title that applies to us in every way.
our looks, personalities, thinking patterns, etc..etc...

many know that one of the ways daron is my opposite is how domestic he is.
yes. i will admit it. my husband is a better homemaker than i am.
he is better at
-cooking
-cleaning
-decorating
-nurturing (especially when someone is sick)
-organizing
and basically all things with the home.

this may be shameful for some women. i, however,  accept it and just thank my lucky stars i have him because i truly dont know what i would do.
yesterday (on his birthday) he went to the ivory furniture sale with my aunt.
(a sale where you get the furniture from ivory's model homes for 80-90% off.)
i admittedly have not yet attended one of these furniture sales yet. daron goes each time without me and picks out everything for our little home.

can you believe that??
he not only picks it out, but then he will decorate it.
like so:
my favorite new addition he brought home.
this lovely chair
oh how i just love this chair.

the truth is: daron's birthday was supposed to be a dud.
i was supposed to work until 7 like normal and we had stake conference (not that that is bad but not the most birthday-esque thing to do)
we planned to celebrate it next week.

but then, we had some unexpected surprises.
work was slow. i got off early at noon!
after stake conference, we visited my aunt to return her car, and we had
-cake
-birthday candles
-and family time.
it didn't turn out so bad after all.
we will still be celebrating next week though. because it was not enough.
and i haven't even given daron his present for crying out loud!

p.s. coming soon:
L-ham and Brycen's engagement.
oh how it was a night to remember.

hAlLowEEn fEstIVitIEs

wow. i'm alive
haven't been on this little blogger in a while. just been a busy busy bee.
busy pulling of work, an engagement, halloween and being sick.
all just wonderful wonderful things.

daron and i (along with 2 other couples)
carved pumpkins together!
that was actually a first for us.
we had never carved pumpkins together before.
can you believe that?!

ours was the mean little pumpkin. daron free handed it all. he makes me so proud.
they were all so creative. the ghosts, the flames, and the polka dots. just adorable i tell you.

on actual hAllOwEEn night we had a little get together at our house.
me (as a spider) and daron (as my fly:)
met up with a shark, nasa astronaut, zebra, lion, and kate middleton with prince william.
the costumes were a crack up.
but very temporary.
let's just get the facts straight and say after pictures, we were all out of our costumes
and into our comfy sweats eating delicious vegetable chili with corn bread and cookies all comfy and cozy.
(thank you lindsay and shelby for the food)
i have to say it gets pretty crazy cookin' for us these days..
we have vegans and a gluten free"er".
we had 3 corn breads for the night:
1. gluten free
2. vegan and gluten free
3. vegan
talk about getting creative.

i am not lying when i say i laughed harder this night than i have in a long time.
i don't know what it was.
but i laughed so hard i cried. and i am pretty sure i wasn't alone.
since then, i have had a little pep in my step.
it's official. laughter is good for the soul.
